TEACHER APPLICATION
If you’re interested in teaching for us, please email us to inquire about available positions. If we confirm there are vacancies, follow these steps:
Registration: To register as a teacher, you need to complete our professional training or submit the following:
Create and upload three 20-minute teaching videos. You should select three of the following age groups.
1. Kindergarten-Aged Learners
2. Elementary-Aged Learners
3. High School Learners
4. Adults
Video Submission: You may need to redo or resubmit the videos up to three times. If approved, we’ll upload them along with your teacher profile onto our online teacher catalogue. This allows interested learners to view your profile and contact you directly about lessons. Additionally, you may receive a teaching contract to create weekly videos for us. When chosen to create weekly videos, please review the compensation information below. Ensure that all your videos are well-lit, clearly audible, and filmed in a quiet location. A clear background and a camera with at least 1080p resolution are required.
Teaching Style: You can film yourself teaching using a whiteboard, props, flashcards, etc., or use your laptop’s screen-sharing and cameo overlay functions. You should have a professional teaching setup ready for high-quality video production.
TESOL Course Graduates: Tellem ESL’s TESOL Course graduates can submit three of their course projects to be considered as a Tellem ESL teacher. This provides an opportunity to showcase the teaching skills you acquired in the course.
Speaking Requirements: You must speak clearly with minimal errors. If we think you made too many, you will need to edit the video to correct them. Clear and precise communication is essential to ensure students understand the lesson content.
Lesson Plan Structure: Candidates should refer to our lesson plan structure (available in our resources subscription). You should showcase your teaching style whilst adhering to our curriculum. For this application, you should teach a lesson from one of our eBooks (available in our resources subscription).
Language Proficiency: We prefer native English speakers, but applicants with a clear accent are welcome to apply. A degree is not necessary, but proficiency in English is essential for effective teaching.
Artist/Creator Release: Any accepted videos become our exclusive property and cannot be used for other purposes. If we do not accept your application, you may use your demo videos for interview purposes only. However, you cannot post them online or publicly as our content is reserved for subscription members only.

Content and Payment Details: You will be teaching our content similarly to the demo video you’ll be creating for us. You’ll need to follow our lesson plan structure and teach our eBooks. Please submit your files by 10 pm (GMT+8) on Wednesdays. If you are selected to create weekly videos, you will be paid $60 per week to produce three 40-minute videos. Payments will be made the Monday following the final submission to accommodate edits and resubmissions. Payments will be processed via PayPal or Wise once you submit the final versions of the videos.
